I knew syncing would be problematic due to the nature of Chinese Firewall but I was actually cutoff from my local data while I was there because I could not log back into the software as the authentication has to go through Yinxiang server. ![]() Also I was in China and Evernote apparently licenses its technology to a local company called Yinxiang and any online reference to Evernote inside China is DNS redirected to Yinxiang, including log-in authentication. If Evernote is out of business then my data will be gone forever. So if I am logged out and offline, my data is no longer accessible even locally because I cannot sign back in. ![]() However, I recently found out Evernote no longer has a true offline mode where I can access my database without the software phoning home to authenticate a fresh log-in. ![]() I've been an Evernote user for 10+ years and even adapted Evernote for my business.
